We generally recommend a mixed diet for all parrots, consisting of pellets (different brands/varieties can be given depending on preferences), a good seed mix, as well as vegetables and fruit. With this type of feeding, a good mineral and vitamin supplement should also be added to the food.

Pellets and grain mixes should amount to approximately 5% of the body weight per day. For example, an Amazon parrot weighing 400g should receive no more than 20g of pellets/grains daily.
