Black walnuts are suitable for macaws, cockatoos, and African grey parrots. However, only the large macaws can crack these nuts on their own. For all other species, the nuts should be cracked open slightly beforehand. Due to their internal structure with many chambers, black walnuts provide an ideal activity for these birds.
