Hulled oats – ideal for preparing sprouted feed
Hulled oats are excellent for producing fresh sprouted feed for budgies and other parakeets. The oat kernels can be sprouted separately or combined with other suitable sprouting seeds, providing extra variety in their diet.
Preparation as sprouted feed
Soak the desired amount of oat kernels in sufficient water overnight. Then rinse thoroughly with clean water and leave to sprout for 1–3 days in a suitable sieve or sprouting jar.
During the sprouting process, rinse thoroughly with fresh, clean water several times a day.
Important:
When preparing sprouted feed, special attention must be paid to cleanliness and hygiene. Sprouted feed should be offered fresh and not left in the food bowl for an extended period.

Budgies and other parakeet species.
