Produktbeschreibung

The variety of herbs provides a healthy and tasty staple food for cockatiels kept indoors. In their natural habitat, Australia, wild cockatiels feed mainly on grass and herb seeds, as well as various (weeds) and their flowers.

This variety of herbs represents the natural diet and provides a species-appropriate, low-energy staple food for birds in homes and aviaries.

The mixture consists of 46.5% starchy seeds, 23.3% high-quality oilseeds, 17% grass seeds, 9% herbs, 3.2% blossoms, and 1% berries. The oilseeds are primarily composed of seeds from herbs and weeds, such as nettle, carrot, fennel, or dill seeds, which are rich in vitamins, amino acids, minerals, and trace elements.

Fatty sunflower seeds have been deliberately omitted from this mixture; they can be given as a separate reward or added if needed.

The grass seed mix includes various fescue grasses as well as Delicha and Pagima Green. Pagima Green, a very fine grass seed, is particularly popular with the birds, while the coarser Delicha from Uganda has to be worked for.

Various herbs known from natural medicine, such as oregano and thyme, round out the mixture. Eucalyptus leaves with bactericidal properties are also included to support the birds' well-being. Interestingly, cockatiels in Australia nest in eucalyptus trees.
